LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD.....District 203 Enrollment and Capacity Planning Open Forums
Submitted by saritagilligan on 31 January 2012 - 2:29pm.As many of you already know, Naperville District 203 is currently in the process of performing a capacity study with the stated intent “to balance enrollments based on current and projected needs and provide for optimal utilization of facilities for the long-term.” There is an immediate need to alleviate over crowding at elementary schools in the northern part of Naperville. Additional changes are being proposed to make room for future programs such as all-day kindergarten and other curriculum changes to meet new common core state standards.
The enrollment and capacity study process has been on-going since October, 2011 and many supposals and draft boundary maps have been developed and discussed by the committee. Up to now, none of the proposed changes required children in Seven Bridges to change schools. On Friday, January 27, 2012 the District released Boundary Reassignment Draft Map # 6, available at http://www.naperville203.org/about/CapacityReportsMaps.asp#capacitydocs, which moves our elementary students from Meadow Glens to Ranchview and moves many of our neighboring communities from Naperville North High School to Naperville Central High School.
There are several opportunities to provide feedback to the District about these proposals, but you must act now! Public input is being collected and will be shared with the committee on February 15, 2012.
Open forums will take place as follows – attend any or all of them.
Monday, January 30 at Lincoln Junior High School
Tuesday, January 31 at Washington Junior High School
Wednesday, February 1 at Jefferson Junior High School
Thursday, February 2 at Kennedy Junior High School
Wednesday, February 8 at Madison Junior High School
All Public Forums will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
You can email the district to let them know your view. You have a voice in this decision. So that we are heard as one voice, please have the subject line of your email read: Seven Bridges Relocation.

Neighborhood Watch Alert
Submitted by Jim Marseille on 8 June 2011 - 10:02pm.Items Stolen from Open Garage on Didrikson - June 7, 2011
A Razor E300 Blue electric scooter as well as a Razor Ground Force Drifter Blue electric go-kart were stolen out of a garage that was left open sometime during the day while children were playing outside.
The theft of items from open garages is not an unusual occurrence in the suburbs. Even when yard work or activities are taking place nearby, if you or your children are in the back yard, it is easy for someone to quickly make off with items left in your front yard or garage. Warmer weather brings with it a greater volume of outdoor activities as well as traffic on our streets. Not everyone is just passing through --- some are here to “shop”. Please remember to remove toys, bicycles and other items of value from your lawns and driveways when not in use. Keep your garage doors closed when unattended.
Proposal for Amending the Village Code for Through Streets - Greene Road
Submitted by saritagilligan on 7 June 2011 - 10:02am.The Village is proposing the designation of Greene Road as a through street and the installation of stop signs at the side streets that intersect with Greene Road. The Village has received homeowner concerns that the stop signs will increase speeding on Greene Road and that other control measures including speed bumps and/or stop signs, as well as a three way stop sign at Greene Trails/Greene Road, are needed. You should be receiving an indepth letter shortly.
The Village will be speaking with a traffic engineer this week in order to begin the study of the intersection at Greene Road/Greene Trails for a three way stop. That study will take a couple of weeks to complete, but results will be shared with the Seven Bridges Homeowners Association Board.
If you have concerns about Greene Road being designated as a through street and the intersection of Greene Road/Greene Trails by the park, now is the time to call!
For questions regarding the through street designation or the traffic study of Greene Road/Greene Trails – please contact Jeff Moline, Assistant Director of Public Works at 630-719-4753 or Christopher Bethel, Director of Public Works at 630-719-4753.
Any questions regarding speeding and enforcement can be directed to Chief Herron or DC Boehm at 630-719-4726.
