Hello neighbors.
On Friday, February 16, a meeting was held with representation from each of the neighborhoods and our three District 5, DuPage County Board representatives. It was productive as we were able to present our objections to the conditional use request and educate our Board members regarding our position.
On Tuesday, February 20, the six DuPage County Board members who make up the Development Committee will vote on their recommendation to the full Board which is currrently scheduled to consider this matter on February 27.
We will have 15 minutes to present our case to the Development Board and will have our attorney there to make our case for us. Again it would be helpful to have as many neighbors as possible attend this meeting. It is at 10:30 a.m at the County Administration Buliding in Wheaton in Room 3500A. Each of the neighborhood captains will be preparing a letter for each of the Development Board members, outlining our objections. We were advised by our Board members not to overwhelm the committee members with multiple e-mails, but to have fewer, well written letters representing each subdivision.
It is our understanding that when this matter goes to the full Board, we need a simple majority (10 votes) to get the Conditional Use request denied. We are working to get those votes lined up.
